Burnout Revenge - review
Review by: Josh, aka: Distorted.Clarity (that would be me)
Burnout Revenge, I was like a gitty school girl ripping this game from its package. I always worry about getting sequels to games you love, as you can have a huge let down. Figured it would be the same as Burnout 3 with some extras, it is but whoa it’s so much more then I could have ever dreamed of. Every track, car, trophies, take down, down to the options are friggin amazing! Out of every game I have played this is my MVG (most valued game).
Graphics: Most games cut the corners by making everything blur when you blow down the track or have them seeming good on track but other items look bland. With as much to do in this game I would have figured as much, man was I dead wrong! In a race game I have never seen so much blistering detail to every aspect of a game. Even all of the side roads (if you’re lucky enough to find every last one) is ultra detailed with what you would likely find on back roads in towns around where you live. I was so submersed into these graphics I had tunnel vision from the first track to the last. Evidently the graphics team took a special enjoyment in this game.
Game Play: The first 4 levels I did not have an issue at all, well besides trying to turn into every single special side road to late. It seems you have an unlimited amount of unlockable cars, I love being able to pick and choose over a huge range of cars. Over all of this game you have a vast amount of ways to take down your opponents, my favorite is the vertical take down (evil scientist laugh). AI is much smarter then the Burnout 3 and I found that the old boost right behind them is not enough to do it this time. once you get up to level 8, its time to sit the beer down as you will need total focus because the AI at this point is starting to play with your mind. Over all this is a game I will be playing till I need disability for carpal tunnel syndrome and prolonged retina burn from the blistering visuals!
Replayability: If you are looking for a game that is addictive as crack, look no further. Break out the wireless controller, energy drinks or an IV, and get ready to wear a crater into your seat. Even my 18 month old cant get enough (seriously) he will grab my other wireless and yell, smile, and then go into a vision tunnel till the next load screen. Anyone with a child knows not much stops an 18 month old dead in their tracks. My son Alex is enough proof, this game is all anyone could ever want.
Sound: its mind blowing that with everything else this game provides that you will be able to listen, pick and choose, by type of track you play or by listing them to play on all. EATM TRAX music, threw down 41 awesome tracks on this already over the top game.

Glitches: I noticed on some tracks after you are blowing threw a lot of traffic or have a crazy crash, that sometimes I would fall threw the road into white. or if I did not make a jump that I could not clear missing graphics where there. This is not a big deal to me as it did not happen often. Don't worry, no locking up when it would look like all was lost. I would just place me in my spot that I should have been then I am back on my way getting my dosage of "game crack".
Rating: 10/10 even with the glitch information nothing broke down or froze up. the back bone of this game is solid.
